      Overview

      Zhang Junfeng is an MPhil student (starting in September 2021) in the Institute under the supervision of Dr. G. Moazzin and Dr. J. D. O. Wong. Having finished his undergraduate study in 2019 with foci on South Asia and anthropology, he joined the clusters of Hubs, Mobilities and Asian Urban and Trading Empires of South China, South Asia and Gulf Region, hoping to explore the cross-regional interaction between China and the South Asia throughout recent centuries. He has a special focus on the overseas Chinese in the South Asia, particularly in Calcutta.

      Sharing & Experiences

      Zhang Junfeng graduated from Peking University in 2019, with a major degree in Indian Languages and Literature and a minor degree in Sociology/Anthropology. During his undergraduate period, he spent two months doing fieldwork in India, with a focus on Hinduism practice.

      Research Interests

      Overseas Chinese, China-India relationship, urban sociology.
