The practice of inscribing stones to record events and commemorate aspirations is a mode of historical documentation that is particularly prominent in Chinese culture. In the late Ming Dynasty, the Nestorian Stele was unearthed in the vicinity of Xi’an, marking the genesis of Nestorian studies. This event gradually unveiled the narrative of Christian religious dissemination as chronicled in stone inscriptions. In recent years, the discovery of hundreds of Catholic steles in the Guanzhong region of Shaanxi by the author stands as a testament to this. The interweaving and fusion of Chinese and Western cultural elements are vividly reflected in the localized characteristics of Catholicism in the Guanzhong area.
