周美玲，獨立製片導演。生於台灣基隆，畢業於國立政治大學哲學系，是台灣「少見身兼製作人身份的女性編導」。自90年代起，拍攝多部影片。2007年，《剌青》獲柏林影展泰迪熊奬，為人熟悉。其作品透露深厚哲學背景，重視文學氛圍，並講究美學藝術層次，影片敘述方式常有“寓言”式深度與趣味，並執著於對同性題材電影的挖掘，著力於對死亡和同性戀在整個社會立足地位的探討。其旨趣在於「透過創作，辯證生命課題、探索命運」。
