      Abstract

      In this Quantitative History Webinar, Nicolas Tackett of the University of California, Berkeley will describe important prosopographic databases available to Tang and Song historians, suggesting some of their uses and limitations. Nicolas Tackett will pay particular attention to what these databases reveal about the very different structures of the Tang and Song political elites, not to mention the very different structures of the Tang and Song states.

      The Quantitative History (QH) Webinar Series aims to provide researchers, teachers, and students with an online intellectual platform to keep up to date with the latest research in the field, promoting the dissemination of research findings and interdisciplinary use of quantitative methods in historical research.
