Abstract

演講探索明、清年間媽祖信仰的政治、社會與文化背景，並引用中文與西方天主教傳教士的記載，進一步討論天主教與中國民間信仰的互動，作出媽祖與聖母瑪利亞在中、西航海史上的比較歷史。

About the Speaker

夏伯嘉，香港人。美國賓夕法尼亞州立大學歷史系講座教授、台灣中央研究院院士、香港大學冼為堅傑出客座教授（人文學科）、香港大學香港人文社會研究所名譽教授。近著有︰《在紫禁城中的耶穌會士︰利瑪竇傳》（上海古籍出版社，2010年）。在歐洲近早期史，明清中西交流史的領域，出版了十餘本專著與百篇論文。
