      Overview

      Professor Bray is core member of the Institute’s research cluster “Science, Technology and Medicine in Asia Society” and Collaborator of the CRF project “Making Modernity in East Asia: Technologies of Everyday Life 19th   21st Centuries”. She has been working with the cluster director, Professor Angela Ki Che Leung on two publication projects: Gender, Health, and History in Modern East Asia (HKU Press, 2017) and Moral Foods: The Construction of Nutrition and Health in Modern Asia, which has been accepted by the University of Hawaii Press.  During her visit to the Institute in 2014, Professor Bray taught a seminar course “Techno-cultures: a cross-disciplinary exploration”, and delivered a distinguished lecture on “‘Men plough, women weave’: Joseph Needham, Feminism and the History of Science and Technology in China”.
