George C.S. Lin is Professor of the Department of Geography, The University of Hong Kong. He is the author of ‘Developing China: Land, Politics, and Social Conditions’ (London: Routledge, 2009) and ‘Red Capitalism in South China: Growth and Development of the Pearl River Delta’ (Vanouver: UBC Press, 1997). His research interests include China’s urban and regional development, land management system, urbanization of the Pearl River Delta region, and cross-border population mobility in southern China.
