Lalit Batra is currently a doctoral student in Geography at the Graduate Centre of the City University of New York. He has done organizing, mobilising and campaign work with different sections of the urban working classes in Delhi for more than a decade. He has also done research on land, livelihoods, city planning and governance in Delhi. He has been a visiting fellow at the Centre for the Study of Law and Governance, Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi and Centre for the Study of Democracy, University of Westminster, London.
