Instructions

In addition to completing the online application form, applicants are required to prepare and submit the following supporting documents (in PDF format):

1. CV (3 pages maximum)
2. Research proposal (in either English or Chinese; to be written in 5 pages or less, with 1.5 spacing and 12 point font size)
3. Abstract (in both English and Chinese; 1 page only)
4. A letter of recommendation (in English) to be sent the Selection Committee of the Hong Kong Institute for the Humanities and Social Sciences at ihss@hku.hk by email.

Application Process

• Applicants will receive a confirmation receipt via email once the online application form is successfully submitted.
• A separate email will be sent to each applicant, indicating whether the application is ready for review, or if not, which supporting materials are still pending.
• Results of the selection will be announced in April 2014.

Note:

The organizers may accept, on special request, fellow scholars and students to observe the advanced training program as an auditor. Please note that only a limited number of places are available and selection will be made based on the relevance of one’s research/expertise to the theme. Auditors will have to pay for all meals, accommodation and travel at their own expense.

To register your interest, please send your name, email address, title (e.g. PhD candidate, Postdoctoral Fellow, etc.), name of degree/institutional affiliation, research interest and a short CV (1-2 pages) to ihss@hku.hk. Successful registrants will be notified by email.
