Nanlai Cao is currently a Research Assistant Professor at the HK Institute for the Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Hong Kong. His research has mainly focused on religion, culture and economy, and diaspora and transnationalism. He received a PhD in Social Anthropology from The Australian National University in 2008. His first book is entitled Constructing China’s Jerusalem: Christians, Power, and Place in Contemporary Wenzhou (Stanford U. P. 2011).
