Jiangang Zhu

Jiangang Zhu is a Professor of Anthropology at Sun Yat-sen University (SYSU) in Guangzhou, China. He is also the Vice Director and Secretary-General of Center on Philanthropy of SYSU. He is also the Director of Institute for Civil Society of SYSU, a leading resource hub and supporting center for NGOs in Southern China and he also serves in the board of Guangdong Harmony Foundation, the first community foundation in China. Dr. Zhu received his doctoral degree in Anthropology from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and he has been doing research in a range of fields including community power, community development, non-profit organizations, social movement, urban space, and gender studies.
