Venue
The advanced training workshop will primarily be held at:

Accommodation (For Trainee Participants)
All participants will be staying at the International Student Dormitory Building B, Nankai University (南開大學留學生公寓B樓) during the period of the advanced training program. The apartment is located within the northwest corner of the Jinnan campus and a 5 to 10-minute walk away from the training workshop venue.

Visa / Entry Permit for Visiting the People’s Republic of China
All lecturers and participants have to ensure that they possess the necessary visa / entry permit for visiting the People’s Republic of China. Kindly contact the Chinese Mission in your respective countries for more information on visa / entry permit requirements to Beijing. A list of Chinese Missions Overseas is available at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China website. The organizing institutions can provide lecturers and participants an official invitation letter for visa application purposes upon request; please contact us at ihss@hku.hk if you require one.
Weather
The training workshop will take place during the summer season in Tianjin. One can expect hot, humid weather with occasional downpours. Average temperatures will range from 21 - 31°C (or 70°F - 88°F). Ultraviolet radiation is strong so if you stay outdoors, do remember to wear sunscreen and take an umbrella.
Electricity and Voltage
The standard electrical voltage in China is 220 volts AC, 50Hz and most of the electrical outlets take standard two- or three-pronged Type I (GB 2099.1‐2008 and GB 1002‐2008) plug. An adaptor will be necessary if you are not using an appliance or equipment with the same socket.
