Before the PhD Program, I got my MPhil degree at the Division of Social Science, the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. My MPhil thesis examines whether Malthusian positive checks on population size took place in historical China. My current research project uses the conflict data from a variety of historical documents to analysis mass rebellions and its roots in Qing China.
